Research and Planning
Hi, I'm excited about this project. I hope I won't put things off like I usually do. I have a ton of ideas and concepts for what I want to do, but it is going to be difficult to brainstorm them and make them a reality. Basically, I want each video and image to somehow fade into each other and merge, but I don't want it to appear tacky. I also want to add some interesting screen text. To be completely honest, I have no idea where to begin or what to do. Ideas of what to do are running through my head, but the fact is that everything is just a blur. Ultimately, I want to figure out how to use this ad to showcase my best qualities. I have plenty of pictures of myself, but I'm not sure which ones to pick. I searched through my camera roll, Google Photos, and social media for images I could use, but I want to lay everything out first so I can understand what's happening. For videos, I know for sure, I want to use this specific video about this debate tournament. In a nutshell, I was competing in a debating tournament when we decided to have a wrestling match in the middle of the round, and I was slammed. I love how this shows how serious and dumb I can be at the same time, in my opinion. I'm not sure what other video I can use. I'm going to check other places where I can find videos of myself and ask my friends if they have anything since I know they do. I want the video's overall feel to be funny. I want the sound to be dramatic yet calm; I want it to emphasize the video, but I don't want it to be so overpowering that people only notice the sound. Obviously, YouTube was the first platform I used. There was a lot of music, but I didn't like it. I think that before I can figure out which sound really complements my ad, I need to find all of my images and videos. If I can figure out how to do it, I'll make a credit roll sequence at the end. I'll probably teach myself how to do it anyway. I'm hoping that this project will allow me to express myself genuinely in the way I want to.
