Behind the Scenes

Image
Welcome back guys, I'm pleased that I've completed filming every scene; all that's left is editing and assembling it. Let me just briefly review everything that happened, though. I began filming the scenes other than the previous one before, on Tuesday. However, I procrastinated and only completed scenes 2, 3, and 4. For each of the scenes, I immediately grabbed my computer, phone, and some books. In scene 2, I had the camera positioned both in front of me and then behind me as I typed on the computer and picked up books. Scene 3 featured me pretending to be talking on the phone as the camera remained in the same spots. In scene 4, with the camera positioned above me, I lowered my head and pretended to sleep. I captured scenes 6, 7, 9, and 10 on Saturday. In scene 6, I asked someone to call me, and then pretended to be awakened by the call, and the camera was above me. Since it was convenient and creepy, I chose to use my shed in the backyard as the set for scene 7. I zoome

The Editing Vineyard

Welcome back guys, although I said I would edit next week, I decided that editing the first video clip I shot would be easier. I'll tell you about all of the days that I shot and what transpired the next time. Right now, I edited scene 5, which is basically the first video clip. I just filmed the first half of the scene because the other half is just a collage of photos, so I will be putting those together. Similar to how I used CapCut on the last project, I am going to be using CapCut on this project. I carefully arranged the images and video so that the pictures and video would be easier to find. I used CapCut to adjust each component's color, saturation, contrast, and brightness to make sure the visuals melded together perfectly and looked good throughout the entire video. This gave me the opportunity to establish the piece's mood and tone, with warmer colors producing a gloomy atmosphere and colder tones suggesting sadness and reflection. To make the project flow well,

Confessions of a Serial Plan B-er

Image
Welcome back guys, I am a bit more calm, after thinking things through. Sadly, I didn’t film or edit over the weekend because I got sick, but I feel a lot better, so I must work extra hard this week. I thought through what I could possibly do, so here is plan B. I changed the script entirely; the storyline is different, but the scenes are somewhat similar. It’s going to follow the kidnapping of Emily, Michael’s friend, throughout the scenes Michael is going to be looking for clues about Emily’s whereabouts and thinking about the times they’ve spent together. Basically, it going to look this: Scene 1: It has been weeks since Emily vanished into obscurity. Michael, in the evening, places missing posters of her. Scene 2: Michael dives deep into blogs, obscure news articles, and the news, seeking any trace of Emily’s whereabouts. Scene 3: Michael feels uncertain as he makes calls, hoping for more information about Emily. He ends up disappointed. Scene 4: Waiting in silence for the phone to

Crisis Mode Activated

Welcome back guys, I am really, very much panicking. All I want to do is to run down the street waving my hands, screaming, like a crazy man. I can’t go to the University of Florida trip because there aren’t enough spots, and I said that it’s fine if I don’t go since I can just find another set. So now I have to use my plan B, but I wasn’t expecting to use plan B, so my plan B isn’t fully formed. And the set isn’t really the problem, it’s more so having to get other people to be in my video. Why did I work alone, I feel so dumb. You know I said I was not going to procrastinate, but I can deal with this issue tomorrow. I'm going to start filming the video to distract myself from a certain problem. As you can see, I have no real plans, so these will just be the simple shots to add rather than the main shots. For this shoot, I used the clip of Michael thinking about Emily thinking about Emily. I wanted to create the impression that the scene is moving through time, I want there to be

Procrastination Management 101

Image
Welcome back guys, I really want to get everything ready and organized for the days I'm recording first because previously, I procrastinated. I want to insert something into one of the scenes. Specifically, I would like the scenes of Michael and Emily together to flash before his eyes as he watches Emily walk away which would then lead to the credit scene. The scene will have to be somewhat short because, in theory, there will be thirteen scenes, including the credit scene, within a duration ranging from one minute and ten seconds to one minute and fifteen seconds. So, each scene should last for five or six seconds. I want to divide the scene's filming over three days to make things more structured. Scenes 1-4 will be shot on the first day of the filming. For each scene, I plan to film in the afternoon and at night. I will have to film both at night and in the morning for scene 4. The members of the cast will be Michael, Emily, and a few background characters. Scenes 5-8 will b

The Story of My Video

Image
Welcome back guys, here’s how the video is going to be structured. Scene 1 Michael is looking out of a window, and he notices a girl, Emily, in the school courtyard. She smiles at him. Scene 2 Emily is at the library picking out some books, and some fall out of her hand, Michael sees Emily and helps her with the books, and they start a conversation. Scene 3 During the night, Michael is scrolling through Emily’s social media and follows her. Scene 4 Michael is on the ground thinking about Emily, night and day. Scene 5 Michael's friend teases him about liking Emily. John asks for advice from his friend on how to ask her out. Scene 6 Michael practices asking Emily out in front of the mirror. Scene 7 Michael and Emily are talking and laughing in the hallway. Michael is going to ask her out but hesitates. Scene 8 Michael tells his friend what happened, and Michael's friends encourage him again to make a move and ask Emily out. Scene 9 Michael fina

The Chronicles of Planning

Welcome back guys, it’s time for me to start making actual plans. I selected Tyler the Creator and Kali Uchis' song "See You Again" to represent the theme of desire. The vision I have for my music video is to tell a love story that ends tragically. As previously said, I have a trip planned to the University of Florida, therefore I will be filming at the university, a hotel, and the city-streets of Gainesville. The filming will occur around October 27, 2023, and October 30, 2023. The cast will dress in regular clothes for the costume, and I need props like a bed, a fake arrow, books, glasses, a letter, and a fake knife. There is a chance, I might not attend UF, in which case I'll probably shoot at the mall or library around the 20th with my friends. I receive additional information on Friday, so I'll soon know my final plan. Stay tuned for my next blog where I’ll unravel even more mysteries about making a music video. Trust me; you won't want to miss it.

Welcome back guys now time to start the planning phase of this project. In order for this project to turn out better, I want to secure it and get prepared. I made the decision to work alone on this project. Yes alone, all by myself. I had initially formed a group because I wanted to cooperate with some other people. There were three of us when we started considering songs we could use. We agreed to disagree. Plus, we disagreed on how it ought to be structured. Nothing bad occurred, but I think that we simply just had a falling out and chose to work alone. I personally prefer to work alone, not because of the other members of my group but rather for my own self. As I said before, I once took more time than necessary to complete a project because I wanted to make a bunch of changes, and I didn't want to do the same for my team. I also don't want to put off finishing the project and disappointing them. So, I thought that working alone would be better. I also want to experiment wit

Out with the Old, and In with the New

Welcome back guys, last time I left off completely finished and reflecting on the project. It was nice and I liked it a lot. Now that a new project is due, it's time for me to catch up. So, my name is Tarzan, just kidding I’m still Hansen Durand. The thought of making a significant impact on people drives me forward every day. I was unmotivated before, but that has improved significantly, and thus far my work ethic seems to be working. I have a lot of fun laughing and making jokes. I still enjoy learning more about new topics and expanding my knowledge. Did you know an ostrich’s eye is bigger than its brain? I recently finished watching "Only Murders in the Building" season 3. It was great fun for me, and there’s going to be a fourth season because it ended on a cliffhanger. I am very excited. I’ve been watching other movies and TV shows and soon I'll begin Loki season 2. Even now, I still want to travel. There are some items on my bucket list that I haven't truly
