Reflecting

Image
Welcome back guys, I made some changes after receiving a few suggestions from my friend. I chose to use both of the audio and changed some of the transitions. Anyway, I had a lot of fun working on this project and I would do it again if I could. Making a sort of ad out of several videos and pictures of me was a lot of fun. The process of finding old photos and videos of myself was amusing. I was able to learn some new skills, like how to use CapCut and other methods of photo and video editing. The process was made easier by the software, which was simple to use. Even though it took a while, I enjoyed listening to many types of music while deciding what kind of music I wanted for the commercial. I was able to create this project using lots of new tools. I used Lightroom to individually edit the photos and CapCut to edit and piece together the entire project. I recorded a portion of the commercial on my phone and improved it with some props. Being involved in this project taught me a lot

Ad Anarchy and Control

Welcome back guys, it's time to complete some of the last steps in creating this ad. The pictures, the music, the videos, and the credits were all completed when we last left off. All that remains is for me to edit the recently shot video and piece together the whole thing. For the video, again, as always, I'm playing about with the saturation, highlights, exposure, contrast, and other settings. During the editing, sometimes it was either way too light or way too dark, I’m hoping it gives off a deep theme. Now, it's actually time to build the commercial, by using CapCut. I put all of my previously edited pictures, videos, and music into a folder when I was done with them to make it easier to collect. I collected all of the audio, video, and photos. I opened CapCut and began editing. I had to pair the footage with my idea, so it took a while. Some clips were edited, while others were trimmed. I removed the bad parts of the clip. I also added transitions, like fades and jump

From Huh to Ok

Welcome back guys, now it’s time for the actual piecing together since I am done with both the videos and the pictures. As I said before I was looking for inspiration since I felt like I wasn't doing enough. Now, I have my idea, now that I have had a chance to see some commercials. I basically want to be thinking back on the past. So, I'm thinking about happy memories which would be the photos and videos, and there’s clam music in the background of it. Then I suddenly wake up, and everything, even the music, stops, and the credits start to roll. I'd start by saying I need to find some new music. I want something that blends nicely with the background of the commercial by being calm and smooth. It took me about an hour to find some new music that would go good with it. So, either "Lujon" by Henry Mancini or "You Know How We Do It" by Ice Cube will be the song. I also need to record myself waking up, in order to make it more realistic, I used my desk and g

The Reel Deal

Welcome back guys, when I last left off, I had just finished the images. Now I'm moving on to the videos. I would like my commercial to last for about a minute. I need to edit the video, shorten it, and crop some parts off. I only have two videos so far. It doesn't matter right now, but I wonder whether I should get more. I must make both videos shorter. I want the five seconds leading up to me being slammed to be captured in the commercial. And I only want around 10 to 15 seconds of the video of me signing. As a result, I again played with the settings for exposure, highlights, contrast, saturation, and other elements. And I'm cutting some things out of the videos. I want to arrange the clips in a way that seems normal. It was challenging since I wanted the outcome to be good, but I pushed through even though I wanted to give up. Honestly, even after all of this, I'm still a little confused, and after looking at my friend's project, I kinda no longer like my origin

Crop 'Til You Drop

Welcome back guys, I eventually found some extra pictures and videos after searching for a while, and when while, I really mean while. Finding more of them involved a lot of asking and searching through my old phone; in fact, I even created one in the meantime. I'm going to use CapCut because it is free and easy to use to create my commercial and do all of the editing. With CapCut, anybody, anywhere can make virtually anything with a video. Funny thing, despite having CapCut on my phone before, I've never used it, so I don't actually know how to use it. I guess I'll have to look for a tutorial video, luckily there’s time. Ok guys, after seeing the video, I think I understand what to do now. I was thinking about ending the piece with a video of me singing in sixth grade. Or maybe fading into the video with words above it. On top of that, I want it to quickly go through each picture, sort of overlapping each other to match the beat. I also want to use some other, not myse

Research and Planning

Hi, I'm excited about this project. I hope I won't put things off like I usually do. I have a ton of ideas and concepts for what I want to do, but it is going to be difficult to brainstorm them and make them a reality. Basically, I want each video and image to somehow fade into each other and merge, but I don't want it to appear tacky. I also want to add some interesting screen text. To be completely honest, I have no idea where to begin or what to do. Ideas of what to do are running through my head, but the fact is that everything is just a blur. Ultimately, I want to figure out how to use this ad to showcase my best qualities. I have plenty of pictures of myself, but I'm not sure which ones to pick. I searched through my camera roll, Google Photos, and social media for images I could use, but I want to lay everything out first so I can understand what's happening. For videos, I know for sure, I want to use this specific video about this debate tournament. In a nut

Hi, I'm Hansen Durand. I was born on December 9th, 2007. I live in Florida, and I go to Fort Lauderdale High School. I would say I have a profound sense of purpose and determination. In the future, I would want to become a general surgeon, to make a significant impact on people's lives through medicine. This is one of the many things that drives me forward. I love learning new things especially when it expands my understanding of the world. I am committed to continually getting better as a person. I am currently engrossed in "Only Murders in the Building," I enjoy solving the mysteries and being captivated by the plotlines, and it helps me to relieve stress. I am sort of a perfectionist, but my laziness overrides that a lot of the time so I’m usually messy. Also, currently, I am a little bit demotivated. This is one of the major times I am struggling with at the beginning of this school year. But I’m ready to emerge stronger and more determined. I love to help people
